After a hard day of wielding swords and fighting gorgons and sea monsters it’s good just to kick off your sandals and relax. The cast and crew of the Clash Of The Titans sequel know where to head at the end of their long day of filming, the Sheraton La Caleta Hotel in the heart of Costa Adeje.

La Caleta has grown gracefully from a lovely fishing village on the south west coast of Tenerife, the main film set is on the eastern coast of the Canary Island at Abades in Arico, some other location work is being done in Teno up on the rugged north west coast of Buenavista del Norte. Despite the drive to work the 300 mainly technical crew have been settled in Sheraton La Caleta for a few weeks while a stone village was being built on the Abades beach. Now filming has started the cast have started arriving, that’s Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton, Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes to name drop just a few.

The movie directed by Jonathan Liebesman, will not hit the cinema screens until 2012 but is sure to follow the opening movie of this reborn franchise as a major tourism brochure for Tenerife. Abades is enjoying all the attention, it got used to being in the spotlight last year as the home village of Pedro the Barcelona footballer who played a key part in Spain’s World Cup triumph.

There’s no doubt about it the Costa Adeje area is a firm favourite with newcomers to Tenerife looking to find a home.
